Dr Syed (Syd) Shabbir graduated from Monash Health and has over 25 years of practice experience in general practice and emergency medicine. He has worked as a general practitioner at Croydon Family Practice since 2015. Dr Syd enjoys all aspects of general practice, and his interests include chronic disease management, cardiac health, geriatric medicine, sports and back injuries, and child health.
Dr Syd has a special interest in skin cancer. He performs skin surgeries and other surgical procedures, and performs mole checks using digital photography with a state of the art Dermdoc machine. Digital dermoscopy technique is used to identify and photograph skin lesions at an early stage to rule out skin cancers. All Images are stored in patient database for follow ups and comparisons.
Dr Anjum Raza General Practitioner
Dr Anjum Raza has been with Croydon Family Practice since 2011. Dr Raza can conduct consultations in English, Hindi, Urdu, and some Arabic, and her special interests include women’s health, paediatrics and chronic disease management. Dr Raza specialised in paediatrics at Glasgow and has worked in maternity for over 20 years. Dr Raza is an Accredited Maternity shared care Doctor for Eastern Health and can provide antenatal and post natal care. Dr Raza has association with the Royal College of General Practitioners, and is currently an examiner for the Fellowship Exams.
Dr Rita Nama General Practitioner
Dr Rita Nama practised in Tasmania for several years before moving to Melbourne with her family. Dr Nama joined Croydon Family Practice in 2015. Her special interests including women’s health, children’s health and adolescent health. Dr Nama has a FPAA National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health, and consults in English and Arabic.
Dr Robert Orgonas General Practitioner
Dr Robert Orgonas MD AMC Certif DRANZCOG FRACGP graduated from the Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy in 1997 and has practised medicine in Hungary and Australia. Dr Orgonas special interest are skin cancer medicine and cosmetic medicine. He enjoys surgical procedural work and achieving good cosmetic results for his patients. He works collaboratively with our general practitioners and nurses in the detection of skin cancers that require treatment. Dr Orgonas works two sessions per week in our procedure room which is specially equipped to undertake surgical skin procedures including the removal of lesions.
Dr Michael Wilmott General Practitioner
Dr Michael Wilmott is a Melbourne University graduate and has been practising in the Ringwood-Croydon area for over 20 years. Dr Wilmott is a registered Rail Safety Worker Medical Practitioner, and his special interests include pre-employment medicals, transport medicine, travel medicine, and surgery.
Dr Reza Shirazi General Practitioner
Dr Reza (Reese) Shirazi FRACGP is a General Practitioner with over 20 years of continuous medical experience. He is interested in all aspects of general practice and providing quality family care. Dr Reese has a special interest in paediatrics, chronic disease management, skin cancer procedures, and musculoskeletal disorders. In addition, he holds an overseas specialist qualification in paediatrics.
Dr Dipak Bosamia General Practitioner
Dr Dipak Bosamia is an Australian trained GP with a variety of clinical experience from Australia and overseas hospitals. Dr Bosamia has additional qualifications in skin cancer management. His special interests include skin cancer screening and management, mental health, chronic disease management, minor procedures, and travel health. Dr Bosamia believes in high quality patient oriented care. Outside the work he enjoys reading, travelling and spending time with his family.
Dr Hema Thimmappa General Practitioner
Dr Hema Thimmappa MBBS FRACGP is a General Practitioner who has worked in Australia for the last 10 years. She has extensive experience across a broad range of specialities having worked at Geelong Hospital and clinical settings before embarking on her chosen career in general practice. Dr Hema is a compassionate and committed GP with a holistic approach to patient care. She enjoys all aspects of general practice with specific interests in women’s health, children’s health, and mental health. Dr Hema performs minor surgical procedures including skin biopsies, suturing, iron infusion, contraceptive device insertion and removal. Dr Hema speaks Kannada and Hindi.

Mr Kevin McMillan Urologist (Visiting Specialist)
Mr Kevin McMillan is a Melbourne and Perth trained Urological Surgeon who obtained his robotic surgery accreditation in Sunnyvale, USA. Mr McMillan has a special interest in open, robotic and laparoscopic management of kidney, prostate and bladder cancer; general urological conditions and urological emergencies including renal stones, colic, haematuria, urosepsis and trauma; as well as the management of small renal masses and complex renal cysts.
Mr McMillan will be consulting weekly, with the aim to provide a community-based urology service for both public and private patients. Any pre-operative, post-operative, and ongoing care will be at Croydon Family Practice, with the aim to provide patient continuity and a combined care model with general practitioners.
Mr McMillan holds public appointment at Eastern Health with sessions at Box Hill Hospital, Yarra Ranges (Lilydale) Hospital and Maroondah Hospital and private at Knox Private Hospital and Epworth Eastern Hospitals. Mr McMillan is also an adjunct senior lecturer at Eastern Health clinical school through Monash University.
Mr McMillan welcomes referrals for all general urology conditions, including emergencies. Referrals will be received directly in person, by phone, fax or email. Mr McMillan bulk bills for low-income earners and pensioners; please indicate this on the referral for the appropriate billing to be arranged.
Kara Lukins Podiatrist
Kara Lukins BHsc BPod (Hons) graduated from Latrobe University in 2001 and has over 15 years experience. In addition to general podiatry, Kara has special interests including children and biomechanics. Kara has obtained certificates in mobilisation and manipulation, and trigger point needling of the lower limb.
Naaman Broadbent Physiotherapist
Naaman Broadbent (BPhysiotherapy) is a Monash University graduate with a strong interest in workplace and musculoskeletal injuries. He enjoys the challenge of helping people get back to meaningful activities. He places emphasis on client education, manual therapy and targeted exercises to help with recovery. Naaman has a keen interest in treating back and shoulder injuries, as well as conducting pre-employment functional assessments. Aside from his experience in clinics, Naaman has worked onsite with many companies and currently consults to small and large businesses with the aim of preventing workplace injuries.
Dr Huan Tran Osteopath
Dr Huan Tran has qualifications in osteopathy, myotherapy, pilates, fitness, kinesiology, counterstrain and remedial massage therapy. He has completed various post graduate courses both in Australia and the USA, is fully qualified and registered with AHPRA. Dr Tran has special interest in chronic pain, and helps his patients with long-term solutions to healing.

Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE) Registered Nurse Division 1, GradCert Diabetes Education (Deakin). Jacquie is qualified in the provision of diabetes self-management education for everyone with diabetes 18 yrs and older with Diabetes Type 1 or Type 2. Whether newly diagnosed or living with diabetes for years, Jacquie aims to optimise the care and knowledge of people with diabetes and their families by offering the highest standard of diabetes education based on the most current scientific knowledge, innovation, excellence and partnership. Jacquie provides Insulin initiation education and support services. A medical referral is not required, and this service is accessible to the wider community. A GP care plan with Extended Primary Care (EPC) visits allocated for Diabetes Education can help to alleviate costs if it is not covered by your health fund.
